The difference between Cambridge IGCSE Economics (0455) and Cambridge IGCSE (9–1) Economics (0987) is the grading system, not the content.
-
0455 Economics:
- Graded A to G*
- Available globally
-
0987 Economics:
- Graded 9 to 1 (UK-style grading system)
- Available only in specific administrative zones (Administrative Zone 3 and Centres in Oman and the UAE)
- Designed to align with UK GCSE grading expectations
The syllabus content and assessment are the same.
Important clarification for centres:
Schools must check their administrative zone before entering students for 0987.
If your centre is outside of administrative Zone 3, Oman and the UAE, you should use 0455 (A–G grading) instead.
