Can I use times and photos from a competitive swim a candidate has performed outside school?

For swimming 10 marks out of the 50 are awarded for technique. Only using times/results and photo finishes will not enable this element to be assessed in that swim.

If the candidate is going to be included in the sample, you should provide filmed evidence of the whole swim and also include a close-up shots of the stopwatch to confirm results.

As with all coursework, the evidence should show the level candidates performance in line with the requirements in the Coursework Guidelines Booklet and you must be able to verify that the work submitted for assessment is the candidate’s own work. For some physical activities, candidates may submit additional evidence, such as results and filmed evidence from competitions.
