How do we mark and moderate the coursework (Component 1)?

Marking

Teachers must mark each assignment, indicating strengths/weaknesses as appropriate, and providing a final comment, making clear reference to the assessment criteria.

Internal Standardisation

This should take place at intervals during the course, to ensure that work in the two separate coursework assignments is being assessed to a common standard. This would take place before the close marking of the assignments by individual teachers.

Internal Moderation

If several teachers in a centre are involved in internal assessment, then the centre must make sure that all learners are assessed to a common standard in order to produce a reliable order of rank. Each of the two coursework assignments needs to be moderated separately using the assessment criteria.
