Students who leave the examination room temporarily must be accompanied by a member of staff. It is important that the ratio of invigilators to candidates is maintained, so if an invigilator has to leave the room then it may be necessary for another member of staff to take over invigilation duties in the examination room. Please refer to the relevant Cambridge Handbook for further information on invigilator to candidate ratios.
In cases where Special Consideration is applied for (e.g. when a student falls ill during an examination) such students may potentially be allowed extra time to compensate for their temporary absence. Guidance on Special Consideration can be found in the Examinations Officer section of our public website.
