Can students use a mixture of stock and original images for the film opening task?

The use of stock images should be avoided wherever possible, unless the images are being used for explicitly stated contextualisation reasons. Even then, they should be used sparingly wherever possible. No mark can be awarded for the image itself, but marks could be awarded for the way they have been incorporated into the narrative through editing techniques etc. The candidate must record in their blog why they have used stock images in as much detail as possible. They might wish to explore the effects they hope to achieve, the reason why they couldn't take the image themselves and so on.
