Why do the English Speaking Tests have a shorter test window than other language speaking tests?

The length of the test window was set following feedback from centres and the needs of cohorts across the world were taken into account in deciding on this. The results of a survey carried out among centres which enter candidates for IGCSE English as a Second Language indicate that the current length and timing of the test window are suitable for the nature of the component and the administrative capacities of centres.
