The Team Element in Component 3 requires candidates to work in teams of two to five members. Candidates must not complete this component on their own, as the assessment requires working in a team, and marks are awarded for collaboration.
Where there is only one candidate taking the course or a candidate has been left alone taking the course after other candidates have withdrawn, centres should arrange for the single candidate to work with a non-assessed team member to complete the Team Project. Non-assessed team members could be from another class or year group and do not need to be Global Perspectives students. The teacher must observe the candidate and the non-assessed team member working as a team throughout the process of planning and carrying out the Team Element; then the teacher must award collaboration marks based on observation throughout the project. Non-assessed team members do not need to submit any work to Cambridge.
