Yes, the extra time may also be used when carrying out the tasks, for example, if a candidate requires the additional time to move about the room, or when setting up equipment. The extra time may also be applied to any reading/written tasks, as well as the planning session. The candidate should take account of the extra time allowed when completing their time plan (e.g. plan the steps to complete from 12pm to 3pm if they have 3 hours), otherwise their time plan won’t match their allowed time for the Practical Test and could be confusing for the candidate to follow. Please add details to the Supervisor’s Report (found at the back of the Confidential Instructions) to be sent to the moderator – this will ensure that the moderator is aware that this candidate is permitted extra time and the process for this has been approved by Cambridge.
