The candidate must be assessed in an environment where they are competing against other athletes. This will enable the candidate to be assessed in tactical awareness and effective performance.

The level of the competition would directly impact the mark of effective performance as shown in the criteria in the Sport & Physical Education (8386) syllabus. The competition can take place within the centre, at an outside club, or at representative level.
