English as a Second Language 0991 (Count-in speaking) is reported on a standard IGCSE grade scale of 9 to 1.
The speaking component contributes 25% to the final syllabus grade. The other components are weighted as follows: Reading/Writing 50%, Listening 25%.
IGCSE (9-1) English as a Second Language 0993 (Speaking endorsement)
For English as a Second Language 0993 (Speaking endorsement), performance in the Speaking component does not affect the syllabus grade for the written papers.
The Speaking component is certificated separately from the main grade awarded for the written papers, and certificates record the achievements of candidates, with grades 1 (high) to 5 (low) as opposed to the standard IGCSE grade scale of 9 - 1.
