For syllabus years 2026 and 2027:
Candidates should take their set texts into the exam room for Paper 3 (Drama).
Invigilators must check that candidates use original published books only, not photocopies, unless our Compliance team has approved this. Invigilators must also make sure the texts do not contain notes, underlining, highlighting or anything else the candidate has added. Invigilators must report any of these.
For syllabus years 2028 - 2030:
We have updated the syllabus and from 2028 onwards there are a number of significant changes which, for Paper 1 (Poetry and Prose) and Paper 2 (Drama and Unseen), allow candidates to use texts with highlighting, underlining or brief handwritten notes to make it easier for them to navigate to the essential elements of the text. The intention of bringing in highlighted and/or underlined copies is that candidates can navigate to the evidence they need to write an effective response during the exam.
