The syllabus page of our website will show any updates that have been made to the syllabus document, resources or syllabus availability.
When a syllabus has been redevelopped/ revised, we aim to notify centres two years ahead of the first examination. For detailed information about what changes have been made to a syllabus, its content and assessment, you can find these at the end of the syllabus document under the heading " Changes to this syllabus for [years]."
If you would like to receive notifications each time an update is shared or there is a redevelopment of the syllabus, you can sign up at the bottom of the syllabus page on the website.
If you would like to ask specific questions about syllabus updates and changes, you can contact our Subject Specialist Advisor Team at info@cambridgeinternational.org.
For the 2028–2030 IGCSE Design & Technology Syllabus, we worked with teachers and subject experts to update the course as part of our ongoing review process.
We have refreshed the subject content and moved a small amount of material that was previously within the options into the common content. This change supports students in developing a stronger foundation for progression to Cambridge International AS & A Level Design & Technology (9705).
There are also some changes to the assessment format compared with the current 2027 Syllabus. Centres should ensure they review the new Sample Assessment Materials to familiarise themselves with these changes and understand how the assessment will be structured. The updated materials are available on the School Support Hub.
