Written Paper - What drawing equipment do my students need for Paper 1 Product Design?

All candidates taking this paper should have access to the required drawing equipment in the examination (outlined on page 30 of the syllabus): 

Required equipment:

 • 300 mm rule 

• drafting pencils

 • coloured pencils

 • eraser

Optional equipment: 

• A3 drawing board and tee square (or parallel drafting device) 

• 30°/60° and 45° set squares

 • 180° protractor 

• pencil compass 

Under the list of optional drawing equipment for Paper 1, the syllabus states that candidates may use an A3 drawing board and tee square (or parallel drafting device). 

For examinations from 2028, candidates may use a calculator in the exam.
