Paper 4 Pre-and Post Poetry and Prose: Should students study selected poems or the whole book of poems?

For 9695, we set both whole poetry texts (e.g. Native Guard) and selections from longer collections of poetry (e.g. Maya Angelou). The syllabus document specifies whether selections or whole texts are to be studied and lists the selected poems where only a selection is relevant.

Native Guard is set as a whole text. Questions could be set on any poem from this volume of poetry; the entire text should be studied.
