Can we re-record the performance if candidates are unwell or if their performance is not up to mark? If so, how many times can we do this?

We do not provide a number of times that a centre is allowed to rerecord work only that they provide clear recordings and we list the sorts of things that can impact on it being a clear recording and state that they should rerecord work in such instances. It is for the centre to decide when is best for them to do their recordings and whether they need to do a re-recording. If candidates are unwell, it makes sense to postpone recordings or rerecord them.

In the 0411/0994 syllabus, we say that the centre must record all practical work undertaken during the course to be able to select each candidate’s best work for the final assessment; it is advisable to keep backup copies of all recordings in case of files being lost or corrupted. It is important that the candidates have had sufficient opportunity to produce their best work and then the centre must make their selections and submit what they think is the candidates’ best work.
