What forms do we need to submit?
These forms can all be found in the 'Syllabus Support' section, here:
- Rank Order Assessment form - one of these forms should be completed for each activity submitted by the centre and should list all of the candidates who took part in that activity in rank.
- The Coursework Assessment Summary form should be completed and submitted for external moderation together with the other evidence.

Resubmitting moderated coursework from 2020 onward.
From 2020, we are changing our policy on the re-submission of moderated coursework. You will no longer be able to resubmit moderated coursework for a future series.
From 2020, if a candidate would like to re-sit the syllabus and take forward their coursework mark, you will need to enter them for an option that includes the coursework component as a carried forward mark. To help you to do this, we have created new entry options for Cambridge International AS/A Level Physical Education (9396). These new entry options allow candidates to carry forward their AS coursework as a single component.
An overview of the entry options available for 9396 is below. To confirm what entry options are available for a syllabus, refer to the Cambridge Guide to Making Entries for the relevant series. This guide is available from the 'Support Materials' section of Cambridge International Direct.
An overview of the entry options available for 9396 from 2020 onward
Candidates for Cambridge International AS Level certification take Papers 1 and 2. Candidates may either:
- take Papers 1 and 2 in a single exam series, or
- carry forward their mark for Paper 2 to a future series, subject to the requirements set out in the Cambridge Handbook.
Candidates who have received Cambridge International AS Level certification and wish to continue their studies to the full Cambridge International A Level qualification may:
- carry forward their Cambridge International AS Level marks and take Papers 3 and 4 in the exam series in which they require certification, or
- carry forward their mark for Paper 2 and take Papers 1, 3 and 4 in the exam series in which they require certification.
Candidates taking the full Cambridge International A Level qualification at the end of the course take all four papers in a single exam series. The Cambridge International AS Level forms 50 per cent of the assessment weighting of the full Cambridge International A Level.

Where can I find examples of marked work or example candidate responses?
Please refer to the Coursework Guidelines booklet and Principles Examiners Report for Teachers (PERT) available on the School Support Hub for this syllabus. They provide detailed guidance on the action plan, and the PERT provides the principle examiner’s review of candidate performance, including in the coursework. They also provide feedback on why highly marked plans did well and why weaker plans did not for example.
How can I contact other teachers teaching this syllabus?
The best way to get in touch with other teachers who are teaching our syllabuses is on the discussion forums which can be found on our School Support Hub.
Participating in our discussion forums allow teachers to share ideas and ask subject-related questions which will be seen not only by the subject specialist moderating the thread, but also by other teachers around the world. For instance, a teacher could ask how everyone is approaching a particular topic, what books they might recommend or simply find out who else is teaching their subject and where; it's like having a global staff room.
Teachers do not need to subscribe to the discussion forums, all the forums are open to all School Support Hub users and you can join the discussion at any time.
