The written component of the Supporting Studies can be presented either as a standalone document or integrated within the visual work. The 1,000–1,500 word count should cover the expression of intention as well as ongoing reflection and evaluation of the work produced. However, brief descriptions or annotations—such as captions or short notes accompanying images—are acceptable in addition to the word count and do not need to be included in the total.
