The 0546 syllabus is designed for students studying Malay as a foreign language. Centres can decide which syllabus their candidates enter for but the 0546 syllabus qualification will only demonstrate competency in the Malay language up to level A2 (Basic User) with some elements of level B1 (Independent User) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).
