Can native Arabic speakers be entered for this exam?

The 0544 is designed for students studying Arabic as a foreign language. There is another Arabic syllabus more suitable for students whose first language is Arabic which is Syllabus 0508. Centres can decide which syllabus their candidates enter for but the 0544 syllabus qualification will only demonstrate competency in the Arabic language up to level A2 (Basic User) with some elements of level B1 (Independent User) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).
