What is the difference between a series and a session?

A series is a group of examinations in the same range, for example, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International A Level, with the same closing date for entries and timetable period. A series is identified by a series month and year.

A session is a period in a day in which an examination takes place, which is either the morning or afternoon.
