Candidates will be engaged with a Diploma programme for a minimum of 10-12 months, and will spend at least 360 hours on a mix of professional development activities including: face to face workshops, research and reading, time with their programme leader and/or mentor, practice based activities, reflection and writing the assignments.
Programmes in the network of Cambridge schools will vary to some extent, as schools and organisations have flexibility to organise their professional development programmes around school timetables and the teachers' needs.
The guided learning, study and practice need to reinforce each other – so schools need to consider carefully how their candidates are going to apply what they learn in practice.
It is important to remember that it is the accredited school/organisation that runs the programme. Cambridge provides a range of support to the Programme Leader, however each programme is going to differ in order to meet local circumstances and styles.
